Semester 1 Blog Reflection

This semester I have read 4 of the 5 books in the series I am Number 4, The first book in the Divergent series, and the last book of The Maze Runner series. During the beginning of the semester we were told to create a goal for ourselves for how many books we could read in the course of the entire school year, me thinking I would not read much I set my goal as 5 books. I have read 6 books this semester and I have surpassed my goal with one semester to spare. I was interested in all these books and I was able to read them in a short amount of time because I would read all day just because I wanted to. These books were definitely worth the read and I am glad I could reach my goal of 5 books.

I didn't blog about Divergent or The Maze Runner but I did blog about the I am Number 4 series and I could have hit the criteria a little better when I was doing the blogs. I did fit a lot of the criteria but on a lot of my blogs I got lazy and always skipped 1 thing; the textual evidence/ quote. When I blogged I used voice, was focused, engaged the reader, but I was missing the quote in probably 6 of 10 of my posts. I feel my posts did evolve over the course of the semester because as I was going on I became more comfortable posting. I used more of my voice, my opinion, and I really put what I thought about what I was reading for others to see.

For the second semester there are some things that I want to do better on, I want to make sure all of my posts have a quote from the text to support my opinion, I want to change the layout of my blogs instead of just a picture of the cover of the book at the bottom with my blog above it, and lastly I am raising my goal of 5 books in the year to 10 as I have already reached my 5 book goal in one semester. I hoper I can reach all of these goals and motivate myself next semester because I think these goals will help make my posts hit the criteria better, make them more enjoyable to read, and make them more believable with textual evidence as a support.
